Namaste, Motherfucker | T-Shirt
After a tough 2016, I decided to devote most of 2017 to trying to sort my head out. I've made no secret of the fact that I have experienced severe depression since I was a kid which, on occasions, has manifested itself in the occasional suicidal tendency.
I don't believe in problems, I believe in solutions. I am not prepared to be a victim to this illness so am determined for find the answer - the cure - to my version of it. To that end, a lot of the self-improvement in 2017 has revolved around mindfulness, meditation, Zen and yoga.
It helps. It truly does. Yes, it IS hippie claptrap, but it does have an effect. It stills your mind, freeing up space for thought and contemplation. Even yoga, which I always presumed to be just another form of exercise, has much more to it than the movement of the body. For a start, it is challenging, especially to someone made from marble as I appear to be. Secondly, as the breathing aspect of it is just as important as the movement, you finish a session feeling very calm and peaceful.
I make no bones about it: I love it. Consider me sold on the hippie claptrap. And, to celebrate, I thought I needed a new T-Shirt.
