Princess Leia is dead. And with it, a small portion of my childhood. I first saw Star Wars aged 6, when it was released. It was, in fact, my first cinematic experience. Like most of the planet, I loved it. A couple of days later, I drew a picture of Leia and Luke swinging across the chasm in the Death Star to escape Stormtroopers.
Forty years later, I am still a huge fan. I cannot believe that Carrie Fisher has gone but, wow, what a legacy to leave behind. She helped change and shape me, along with an entire culture, for decades to come.
RIP Carrie Fisher. And thank you.
